Multiple BSOD help me please!!!!

No errors now in device manager

I scanned using the microsoft scanner mentioned in the strip down thread you posted and nothing was found

as soon as the scan finished the PC then BSOD with a 0x0000003b error.

last night alot went wrong

the PC crashed alot would not start up and then some smoke came out of it.

I now have it back on I removed the Fan, CPU, GPU's and the ram clean the case out and reinstalled the parts

Pc is also Running very slowly now.

Turn off Driver Verifier (use the "Delete existing settings" radio button) - that can cause slowness on the system.

Unplug the system from the wall, open up the case and sniff around inside to figure out which part was smoking.
Rerun hardware diagnostics (from my first post)
Run these free stress tests (keeping a careful eye on the system while doing it!!!):

FurMark Setup:
- If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
- In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test
- Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
NOTE: Set the alarm to go off at 90ºC. Then watch the system from that point on. If the system doesn't display a temperature, watch it constantly and turn it off at the first sign of video problems. DO NOT leave it it unmonitored, it can DAMAGE your video card!!!
- Click "Quit" to exit

Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight please run the "Small FFTs" test instead. (run all 3 if you find a problem and note how long it takes to error out with each)
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
This won't necessarily crash the system - but check the output in the test window for errors.
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

ran the fur mark test

seemed to handle it

BUT I got the 0x00000050 bug check when I restarted ran sfc /scannow and it failed at 72% Windows Resources Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them

and I am going to run a memtest86 again

could it be the ram or graphics cards?

Did you turn Driver Verifier off?
Please zip up and upload the memory dump file from the last BSOD - they're usually found at C:\Windows\Minidump

Probably not the video card since FurMark didn't give you problems. We'll need to run Prime 95 to see what happens with that. If running MemTest86+ again, please let it run overnight.

ran memtest for 4 and half passes and no errors

I couldn't download Prime 95 yesterday I have now installed it and I am running a test

Update the test has been running overnight - no errors thus far

I'd suggest seeing if there are any updates for your system available from the manufacturer(s) - to include BIOS updates.

Then, if that doesn't help - wipe the hard drive (with DBAN or KillDisk - both are free) and reinstall Windows without any additional programs - but get all drivers and Windows Updates.

This'll ensure that you're not having a Windows or 3rd party driver issue - which will leave only the hardware as a suspect.

I think I need to re-run Fur Max as I ran the new version and the stablility test did not seem to be an option I have found a link to an old test so I shall run that first then try a clean windows install with a wiped hard disk drive.

I have left Prime 95 running so I will update on that when I get home

prime 95 came up clear ran fur mark for an hour on stability and it was fine did not crash or glitch top temp was 100 degrees but that was only at the hour point.

I have wiped the the HDD and I have started running updates. Should I install Microsoft Security Essentials and Office or hold off while until I think the system is stable?

You'll need an antivirus if you're going to surf the web - otherwise leave it off.
Don't install Office or any other stuff - the "purer" the Windows installation, the less likely it is to have software issues.

It looks like you were getting BSOD's every 2 days, so I'd use it for a week just to be sure.
If no BSOD's in that time, then it's something that you'd installed.
If there are BSOD's, then it's more likely to be hardware (and less likely to be Windows since this is a fresh installation).
