Hey guys!

New to seven forums so i apologies if i am doing this incorrect, I recently re-installed windows on my computer and did a full fresh install due to my hard-drive getting too full! Since then i have re-installed my gaming collection mostly through steam, and since then i have been receiving multiple BSOD's a day but usually only when im playing graphically demanding games.

Im no pro at this but my first thought was the RAM so i ran windows memory diagnostics and it came back clean, I have my minidump files and have attached them, if there is any other information i am leaving out please get back to me and i will give you all that i can, Really appreciate it if one of you gods among men could have a look at this and help me resolve this issue!

Mike!

Hi -

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Memory diagnostics and Memtests are not reliable. The problem may be very well with memory but the tools would not catch it. You would have to try a new RAM kit (or borrow) in order to rule out faulty RAM.

Please follow what's asked in this quote:
Can you download CPUZ and post a snip of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs.
For posting the information , enter 'Snipping tool' in the Start button > Search box, hit enter. Select the area you want to post and save to a convenient place.
How to Post a Screenshot in Seven Forums
Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and the CPU integrated memory controller voltages (QPI/DRAM core voltage) are set at.

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.
   Note
Pay close attention to part 3 of the tutorial in order to rule out the faulty stick.

   Information
Errors are sometimes found after 8 passes.

   Tip
Do this test overnight, before going to bed.

Try turning off the page file on your system for a few; play the games you would play that would give the BSOD.

Have you performed a full check disk to ensure that there are no bad clusters on your hard drive?

Also what kind of Video Card are you running?

Disable verifier as it can cause false BSOD's.

Hello again, so I've been getting the usual page fault bsod regularly now, starting to happen about 4 times a day, I tried all my ram in slot A1 in my motherboard and it keeps crashing, surely all 4 of my ram sticks can't be faulty! Maybe it's the ram slot on the mobo? So I've put 1 4gig stick into a different slot and so far it has not crashed although I haven't had time to truly test it! Could that be the issue? Just a faulty ram slot? I've also disabled verifier and since then it's been happening even more! Thanks again

Hello Stoshus7,These hardware problems can be a real pain to figure out. It requires a lot of testing usually. I know, I've been there before. If you will work with me, hopefully we can figure it out. First, if you would, please completely fill out your system specs. I see you have some of them, please fill out the rest. At the lower left of this post, click my System specs to see mine. That is more of what we want. As I understand it, all you did was change hard drives before this started, is that correct? Would you please go to the manufacturer's web site and download their diagnostic scan. Try to get the ISO file and burn it to disk. Burn it do not copy it. Then boot from the disk you just burned and run the extended diagnostic scan. If all you did was swap out the hard drive, that is the first 'suspect'. You also seem to be having some ram problems. When you ran memtest, did you run 1 stick at a time in each slot? The reason is with memtest you are checking the ram but also checking the Dimm slots on the motherboard. Dimm slots can be bad and cause errors just like ram sticks can be bad. What we would like is a ram stick that passes so we know the ram stick is good. Then run it in every slot on the board. If you can find 2 known good sticks that pass in 3 slots and get errors in 1 particular slot, it is probably the slot that is bad. Also, do you have the latest bios update for your board? When you reinstalled Windows did you first download all the current drivers from the manufacturer's web site? And have you installed all the Windows updates as well as Service Pack 1?
