My computer won't boot up!!

Hi there you all, ....
This problem appears, dissapears and reappers.
Debug Led on the back shows "32" and then I hear 1 long beep (by long i mean longer than the two beeps after) and two short beeps, then nothing shows on the screen.
I cannot do a startup repair because it won't even go to BIOS.

This problem has happened to me like two more times in the past. First time I reseated graphics card and memory and problem solved. Second time i just reseated graphics card and problem solved. This time neither would work.

This computer is almost new, (7 months). and was built from scratch. I don't see how it would be possible that I have damaged hardware.

I have attached a PC wizard report I did before the problem in case you all need it.

Yes man, thanks for your quick response, however, i don't think i will be able to boot from that disc, since i cannot boot from my windows installation dics itself to make a startup repair.
I have no acces to Bios or anything as I said, so i cannot change the boot order.

Anyways, i am downloading the windows x64 recovery disc right now, i will try in case it is different in this case..

PS: i forgot to say that today, after leaving the computer alone for 5 hours, I tried turning it on and it did, but it got a black screen giving me a couple of options, 1: enter setup. 2: boot up with last good known configuration.
Before those 2 options it said CMOS error. (probably because I pushed the "clear CMOS" button in the back of my MOBO before turning it on).

update

hey,,,,, just to let you know....pc logged in again and the installation dvd was inside, (after leaving the comouter alone for an hour or something).
So I went to sart up repair and it did nothing: start up repair could not find or couldn't repair any issues or something.
I restarted and there we go again, no boot up and no way to get to the installation disk.

I also used the memory diagnostic tool and errors.

OK not many more ideas. I was involved in this thread. I gave up and another member had a greaat idea and it worked. Give it a try. I am crossing my fingers.

In that thread you linked, it seems the OP used system repair options from the Vista recovery disc.

Not sure that's going to help here.

Hardware issue related to video is the message bios is giving by the beeps.

My motherboard uses a slightly modified version of the American Megatrends AMIBIOS.
I look the AMIBIOS Support and they don't list the one long and two short beeps code.

So i am slightly lost here.

If you check the thread you posted , the OP clicked "Repair My Computer".

That is not on the ubuntu disc - it is on the Vista repair disc. He finally figured out how to burn the Vista iso to cd - and used that.

The black screens and bios inability to display coincide with the one long two short meaning a video problem.

Also , you had a similar issue before - temporaraily fixed by reseating the video card.

Smells suspicious to me.

I tried reseating the video card and nothing....Before that, the computer logged in again and i tried login in with the last good known configuration but that option took me to the install windows option (the installation dvd is inside), As i don;t want to reinstall windows or do a install repair I cancelled this option, the computer tried to restart but the problem reappeard. No boot up....

What should I do next time I hit my pc power button and boots up??

while logged in

Waited a couple of hours and i am now logged in.
While i am with my system running, i did a SFC scannow in case a have corrupted system files and I receive this as a result: windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
The CBS report has like 50mb of non-understandable gibberish. I did a search to find which files are corrupted but no results.

Would these corrupted files be the cause of my startup problem??
How can I know which files are these?

I am afraid to turn off my computer, I know it will not normally turn on again.
Also incase you need to know i did a repair install before all of these happened, that' was suppose to fix any corrupted system files.

It seems clear, to me, that from your description your problem is on the hardware side, not the OS.

My AMI beep code table (printed!) shows 1 long + 2 short as a video error, as SIW2 pointed out. That means that the video card is not sending the "All OK" to the BIOS during boot. And if the video card is not working in BIOS it certainly will not work in the OS. So you need to work on the video hardware error.

Video hardware failure can be caused by:

• Defective video card
• Overheated video card (are the fan(s) working?)
• Bad video card socket
• No power, poor connection, bad power to the auxiliary power connector on the video card (if any).
• Failing power supply
• Faulty motherboard

Can you test your video card in another computer? Test another video card in your computer?

I don't have another video card, so i don't know how I am supposed to troubleshoot this.

Sadly what you suggested did not work.
Computer is not able to boot up from usb flash memory or ubuntu bootable dvd.

You could try this as posted by Pebbly

1: remove card from laptop
2: remove the heatsink and backing plate by undoing the retaining screws and gently prising apart
3: remove all traces of thermal paste from gfx and ram chips using 99% rubbing alcohol
4: Place in a pre heated (150 degrees C) oven , on a stiff piece of card for 3 mins only per side ( 6 mins total)
5: turn oven off and leave oven door half open (or half closed) for 30 mins
6: refit heatsink, backing plate and thermal paste, i used as5 and replace in laptop

or this as posted by me taken from Computer Overclocker Site

1: remove heatsink and thermal paste
2: preheat oven to 385F to 400F( NO HIGHER!) ( gas mark 6)
3: lay foil over the oven rack
4: make 4 balls of foil, about 4cm high,
5: when the oven is heated to its correct temperature, put the graphics card on the 4 balls, one on each corner )
6: leave for around 6-10 mins, NO MORE THAN 12 OR IT WILL MELT
7: remove from oven and let cool on a stack of newspaper
8: once cooled, reapply thermal paste and heatsink then reinstall

If this works your video is the problem, if not, it points to the socket on the mobo or the power supply, best of luck.
