My difficulty with .xml files

Hi all,

I use a Windows 7 x64 machine. Using the Notepad program, I created a new text file named Test.txt and inserted some data into it: one, two, three

Now when I open that Test.txt file, it opens and shows that content.

After that, I modify it to: one, two, three, four and save it (using Save As option) to a Test.xml file.

The default program for opening those kinds of files is apparently IE 11 , but when I choose it and double click for opening, it shows nothing!

What is the problem please and how to solve it?

Built my first computer (8Mhz 8088cpu, 640K RAM, 20MB HDD, 2 360K floppy drives) in 1985 and have been building them for myself, relatives and friends ever since.

I also updated my IE and all Adobe Flash players. Then put a valid XML data now it works. :)

But one later question please. The type of the test.xml file is .xml and when double clicking IE opens it finely but as this is clear from the image below, the icon/shape of the file is still of .txt which seems rather odd! :(
