Hi,
I have been using Win 7 for more than a month and I see that my machine's getting slower and slower. I've used several application like Ccleaner, Wise Disk cleaner, advance system care to clean junk files regularly. I also defragment my drives everydays with Smart defrag. I have set some unnecessary windows services to disable or manual. No new application installed. Can anyone tell me who to boost the speed as if it were newly installed?
Thanks

Try defragging ur registry also. Sometimes it helps.

Honestly.... Clean install again, and stay away from registry cleaners. If they were really working, your machine would still be fast....right? Your registry shouldn't get bogged down so soon. It takes numerous installs, uninstalls and just poor PC maintenance for that to happen. And when it does happen, there is no registry repair fix more effective than a clean install.

Regularly run disc cleanup, and defragment. Make sure you don't have every program you ever installed set to run at start up. And your PC should take care of you for a good bit of time to come.

Check your startup apps thru msconfig and uncheck the ones which u dont use. like adobe/google updater etc.

I agree with electro, once I used the reg defrag from tuneup and it crashed my OS. I wont touch it again.

Also check the no. of process running thru taskmanager and check for anything suspicious.

After reading your specs I'd have to say another gig of ram added to your machine would do wonders.

Here's a link to a very helpful Windows 7 services guide. If you scroll a bit down the page you'll see registry patches. In your case I'd download and run the "Default" services patch for your pertaining system. Then download the "Safe" configurations patch and run that.

Adding another gig of ram will help no doubt. To avoid any confusions do a clean install. But some ppl don't have the time to do software installs all over again (eg. me) . Install codestuff starter if you want to see startup items, processes and services all @ 1nce & manage them cleanly :) : there are unnecessary ones, like indexing, win defender (use a good AV & antimalwares like Mbam) etc.

Many people seem to have problems with reg defrag. I install a lot of software, so my reg does get bogged down, and it's not because of poor maintenance  !! Strangely enough, my TU reg defrag does speed my pc up, when run twice or thrice a month. And have never messed up my OS - not Xp, not 7 and I've been using these for years ;). The main thing is to keep an eye on what it cleans and not run scheduled cleanups.
