My monitor shows too wide, when I install my graphic card driver

Hello guys, I was using a 4:3 monitor before, then I bought this widescreen monitor. It was showing too wide, I mean when i choose 1024x768 in options, it fills perfectly(which it shouldn't). I tried somethings and didn't work. At last I formatted my pc, then it was ok.

I didn't install the graphic card driver my self, but it looked like installed when i saw the device manager. I was using 1280x720 resolution(I guess it should be 1366x768 tho, it's better than having the other issue).

Few days later, I wanted to play another game(which needs high graphic card, but i used to play it in my old 4:3 monitor). Game couldn't start, because my graphic card doesn't support. I was suprised because, I used to play it on my old monitor. Then I downloaded the graphic cards manually from amd's website. I installed it, then boom, the same exact issue I had before.....

Now I can play the game but, it's so annoying to do everything with this issue.

The new monitor should be set to it`s native resolution, whatever that is.

Most of the new widescreen monitors are 1920 x 1080 resolution. Try setting your system to that and see if the video behaves. Your card can handle it.

Acer led s191hqlfb This is my monitor. it says it's native resolutions should be 1366x768 but there is not option like that.

And here is a screenshot. When I try to choose 1400x1050 or 1600x1200, it says input nott supported on the screen, then I press escape and it returns to the one i use before. I saw that I can also use 1280x1024 but only difference is it shows smaller, still having that same issue.

I'm just going to add some more info about my problem. When I choose 1280x720 anyway, there are big black gaps on top and bottom. when i share screen with my friend, he can't see them. And I guess my pc senses my monitor as 4:3, when i install the drivers. More than that, I just want to show you some screenshots which I took in 1280x720 resolution.

Well, for starters, your PC is detecting the screen as a CRT, which is why it's only allowing a 4:3 aspect ratio. It's obviously not detecting your monitor properly.

You need to install your monitor drivers. They should have come on the CD that came with the monitor, or else they're available at the manufacturer's website. Try that and report back.

Sorry for late reply. I found a file on manufacturer's website, I somehow manually installed it. Here's a screenshot. I still have the same problem. I tried reinstalling the graphic cards driver. Then somehow my monitor driver resetted to generic non pnp. Then I reinstalled monitor driver. nothing changed. Please help.

Install the digital monitor driver and see what happens. Your monitor should be digital, not analog, unless you have it connected by a VGA cable. If you have it connected by a DVI cable, then digital is the way to go.
