When I install my Graphic drivers my comp stops working??

I've tried installing it from device manager, downloading them and installing of the disc.. My Gcard is a nvidia gts 450. when I install them I restart my comp and after 'Starting windows' it just stays black..

EDIT: My computer is only about 2 months old.

600W and yes it powers up. I'm online right now with the card disabled in device manager.

Have you installed the latest drivers for your motherboard? If you have the card disabled what are you using to feed video to your monitor?

The white and blue cable that plugs into your Graphics card and monitor (Not sure on the names sorry, VGA/VGI that kind of stuff..) Also my motherboard is up to date as far as I know, and it's just right click disabled in device manager.

Is your monitor connected to the integrated video card (the one built into the motherboard) or the video connector on the GTS 450. To use the add in card you may have to change a bios setting so that windows uses the PCIe Video card and not the onboard. Also you have to move the monitor cable from the motherboard video connector to the connector on the add-in card.

It's not integrated, it's seperate to the motherboard. I'll try change the Bios now.

It came with my system. It was working 2 days ago until my computer started freezing up so I done a clean install, now it's doing this. It happend a few days ago a couple of times aswell but not everytime, computers only 2 months old, starting to piss me off..

Sounds like the card may be going. If the computer is only 2 months old you may want to have it checked out under warranty.

But it worked fine 2 days ago or so, + I have to send it all the way to Germany from England if I want that.. Are you 100% sure..

I can only go by what you tell us, so no, I'm not 100%.... but if your new system is giving you problems.... well....

Can you at least call them for some type of support?

OK, I thought you may have just installed it and were missing something in the process. I would shut it down and switch off the the power supply so it can't start back up by accident. Then remove the side panel and touch the power supply with one hand to discharge any static electricity on your body. Now re-seat ( remove and then re-insert) your video card, RAM modules, and any other add-in cards like sound cards and network cards. Check all your data and power cables to make sure non of them are loose. If there is a lot of dust inside you may want to clean that out. You can buy small cans of compressed air at Staples, Futureshop, etc for that. You can do it with a vacuum cleaner too if you are car full. Now leave the side panel off and power it up. Check to make sure all the cooling fans are working. Specifically the one on your video card and the one on your CPU heat sink.

EDIT: If there warranty stickers preventing you from opening the case without breaking them, make the call before doing what I suggested above.
