my old epson dot matrix won't work with my OS

I have an Epson LQ-570e dot matrix printer that won't work now that I upgraded from XP to Windows 7. There is no software available from Epson for Windows 7 for this printer. Is there any way I can get the printer to work?

A print server may work, however, that will cost some monies because ye would have to dedicate some hardware and software that would act as interpreter between Windows and printer. This is simply a wild guess on my part. I haven't used a dot matrix for some years now.

Perhaps you should try the Windows Vista driver from the driver download page. Sometimes Windows Vista drivers will suffice for Windows 7. Epson LQ-570e, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.

Although no driver for Windows 7 specifically is available on the driver download page, this compatibility chart states that your printer has built-in Windows 7 drivers (which means you can simply plug it in and it will work - allegedly).
