Solved My SATA devices show up as SCSI??

Hi Lady Fitz:

Thanks for your reply and info...appreciated.
I am not actually defragging my SSD (my system drive) like you would a mechanical HDD as that would not do the SSD any good at all. I use System Mechanics SSD Accelerator which optimizes & the efficiency off the SSD. I presume it performs similarly to RAM optimization software utilities. After I have run the SSD Optimization utility (1 per month) I do notice an improvement in boot and in software response times.

Rgds.:)

Hey, my SSD and HDs were shown as SCSI as well when I installed the OS a month ago. I would not have noticed it but Samsung Magician was acting up. It turned out that I had SB850 SATA3 ports set as RAID in the BIOS. After editing the registry for AHCI drivers, I changed the BIOS SATA type to AHCI and booted up. All disks are ATA devices now and also Magician correctly identifies the SSD.

Hope this helps.
