Hello, my windows 7 not working properly. Today I was using it and all my desktop and taskbar icons were blank (white) none of programs open or broken. After restarting everything is fine, but after few days it happens again. Please help . Thanks

Hi Noah pc, welcome to Seven Forums,

Have you downloaded any programs, software, or done any updates prior to this happening?

I hope this helps!

Hi Noah pc,

You must have obviously downloaded and installed the programs in order to test them, is that correct?
Have you now uninstalled them, and if so, what did you use to uninstall them?

First check your hard drive from an admin cmd prompt type: chkdskc: /r
It will say disk locked test on start say yes and reboot
I would do as samuria suggests and run the above, and yes, there is a space between the : and the /.

I hope this helps!

Hi Noah pc,

Another option, have you got a system restore point prior to the problem starting?

I hope this helps!

Hi Noah pc,

It maybe something to do with the windows registry.
Out of curiosity, what makes you think it is something to do with the registry?
Have you looked in the msconfig startup menu to see if there are any items you don't recognise or need to start at startup?

I hope ths helps!
