When I uninstalled the network drivers (both WLAN and LAN), I restarted it. When I logged back in, a few seconds later, the drivers were automatically installing on their own. When I was about to uninstall, there was a checkbox saying to delete the software or something. Not to sure or remember what it says, but that was it. I did not check the box. So I guess it would have not installed the drivers on their own if I were to check the box.

It didn't resolve the issue yet, though.

Nope. No luck.

I did find a suspicious driver, by the way.

It's in the Network Adapters section... called "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface" and it says "Device cannot start". (Code 10). Could this be our problem?

Can we continue this tomorrow, though? I have to go.

Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface is part of the IPv6 functionality and if I remember correctly, Windows 7 uses it for Homegroups.

Apparently firewall software can interfere with that. Are you running any firewall software? (Something I should have asked earlier. Either way, you can either disable Teredo if you're not planning to use Homegroups or I can post any information I've found regarding the Code 10 I found and ultimately help you with your current issue.

I'll go ahead and disable it. I don't use Homegroups or anything. (Which what is Homegroups, anyway?)

I'm using ZoneAlarm for a firewall.

And it still doesn't seem to fix my issue. I was thinking to go ahead for a system restore to the date it was working correctly, which was Saturday, the day before the problem started. The blue screen popped out this time around btw.

Sure. Make sure to completely disable it. I think there might even be an option to stop it from auto starting. Restart and see if the issue occurs again.

Instead of disabling it, I uninstalled it and seems that was the problem after all. I also updated my Network drivers through Windows Update. I just don't understand why all of a sudden ZoneAlarm did this to me. I've been with that program for years. Looks like a malfunction with Windows 7 there. I downloaded it from CNET.com. Is there any place I can get ZoneAlarm? It's my favorite firewall.

I understand why this was happening. I had installed ZoneAlarm on Sunday. That's the day the freezings were then going on.

As for ZoneAlarm...personally I'd ditch it entirely. It's horrible and there are a LOT of bugs. If you really want a decent free firewall, Comodo is really all I recommend.

Does it advise everything that attempts to connect to the internet just like ZoneAlarm with every pop-up? I like that. I have some programs I actually prefer not to connect to the internet. Windows Firewall wasn't very good at stopping those.

Yes it has outbound protection as well Comodo is a lot higher quality than ZoneAlarm and there are usually very few bugs with updates etc. ZoneAlarm is a resource hog and almost always causes issues.

Thanks a billion! I did have a hinge that ZoneAlarm was causing the problem, but that didn't happen with any of my other computers.

Thanks again, I'm going to try out Comodo then. Is all their other products good? Like Anti-virus, and all the others?

I've never tried their Anti-Virus stuff. I usually stick to Avast for free AV. Although since Windows 7 I've just used Microsoft Security Essentials for AV.

But if the quality of their AV is anything like their Firewall I'd say it was worth it.
