Hello guys. Here's my strange problem. So i was with Windows Vista and i was browsing the internet when suddenly the computer stops working.I mean my mouse stops working, my keyboard and the OS too.The lights of the keyboard (caps lock, num lock) turned off.The laser of my mouse too.The windows stops completely too.It stays there like a picture.I mean even the emoticons werent moving (hope you understand me ).So i decided this was some virus and i put a fresh copy of windows seven.Everything was good, but then after 20 minutes (i was installing some players and antivirus program) it happened again :( I cant explain this.Hope you guys help me.I bet its some kind of hardware problem. Thanks in advance, guys

Welcome!

This is certainly a hardware problem. What brand hard drive do you have? I would recommend going to the manufacturer's site and looking for their advanced disk diagnostic tools.

Also, you should probably test your RAM. Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn it to a CD using the Windows ISO-burning tool. Then boot up the CD and run at least 5 passes.

Hope we can get this figured out!

On addition to that post us the MSINFO32 file

MSINFO32
Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.

If you're having difficulties with the format, please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type "msinfo32 /nfo C:\Users\Public\Desktop\TEST.NFO\" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Desktop directory to retrieve the TEST.NFO file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back.

Good Luck,
Captain

Let's try to test your other hardware. Try removing all unnecessary hardware from your computer, like hard drives, video cards, USB devices, etc.

How to remove it, buddy :sarc: You mean to plug them off.How would my computer work, if i plug off the hard drive :D

I take it you only have 1 hard drive. If you had another one you were using, that's when my suggestion would be applicable. :)

Still go ahead and unplug all the other unnecessary hardware.

Sorry Mate that didn't help that well. Basically when you open that MSINFO32 then look for a section called Problem Devices see whether you have something list under there

Windows system reports are all nearly identical - so it doesn't matter if they're in Bulgarian, Hindi, Chinese, Turkish, or English.

Take a look at an MSINFO32 file from your system and compare it to the one from subata's system.
In this case, there aren't any problem devices - BUT - in the Windows Error Reporting (the last entry in the Software Environment category) there are some interesting events.

First is that this is an Asus P5QL-E motherboard. We have noticed that these boards have a higher rate of memory issues than most other boards (with the exception of the Gigabyte P45/55 boards). I'd suggest visiting the Asus website and the website of the manufacturer of your RAM to ensure that it's compatible and that you're using the appropriate settings.

Next, there's an interesting note that, on Feb 2, 2099 there's an error when the system can't locate the Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility driver - ASACPI.SYS Please do the following:
- Check the system time
- Visit the Asus website to update/replace that driver: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
If you can't find the ATK0110 ACPI Utility for your mobo, the PCProbe Utility and the AISuite utility also contain it.
