Mysterious crashing during Fallout 4

at a total loss here... randomly during the game what seems to be in high bad guy areas, the computer will completely shut down. i have to pull the power supply plug out for a few seconds and replug and turn it back on...

specs:
MBStock HP) N-alvorix-rs880-uATX
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SUPERCLOCKED 2048MB GDDR5
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1065T HDT65TWFK6DGR 2.9GHz
RAM: 2x 4g kingston hyperx fury
no case as thought it was overheating
PSU:Sentey® Power Supply 550w

only thing left on the computer stock is the motherboard. everything else was replaced. replaced the graphics card when we decided to use it as a gaming computer and got the evga as it would work with our at the time stock PSU. then we got the 2 sticks of ram, and the new CPU. purchased and attempted to play Fallout 4 and it started to crash. No idea why.

tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the graphics card, purchased a higher wattage PSU (the 550w) and still to no avail. tho it did help the temp. but thats not the problem..

We UNDERCLOCK the graphics card to 70-80% and turn the fan up to 100% and still crashing.. the event log i pulled up said 41 Kernal Power in the critical spot. im not sure what that means or what i can do to get this stupid game to work... it was suppose to be a christmas gift to my husband but he doesnt have any interest as it keeps crashing.. .

Hello.

Check voltages in BIOS and post them here (I know it's new but just to make sure).
Can you post your temperatures (maybe CPU is overheating.Are you running stock cooler?Check it is fixated correctly)when game is in Fallout 4 (use software like HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID).

That GTX 660 is quite a beast.It requires minimum 24 Amps on +12V rail and your PSU can supply more than 40Amps.
And : 12V * 40A =480W ->enough to run GTX 660
What was your old power supply?

Try to connect your computer to another power source in your house.Faulty installations or not equally loaded phases might cause problems.

You can download: HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download 64 bit version.
Open it and click on sensors.Scroll down until you find voltages.

Thanks @ICIT2LOL (he told me about this program).

Even though you can check temperatures with this program too,I would use HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID because it's easier to screenshot.

Check RAM for errors :Type this Windows memory diagnostic in start and press enter.You can restart and check for errors now or upon next boot.

Those are low power supply voltages!
Change your power supply as soon as possible!
Also check have you plugged power supply cable correctly into the motherboard!

On +3.3V rail your power supply has voltage of 2.2V (it should be 3.3+V)
On +12V rail , 8.8V (it should be 12+V)
And GPU core voltage is also low!

But I would check in BIOS also just to make sure (sometimes readings are not correct in these type of programs).

I'm sad to say that that is amazing news lol. I am so sick of it crashing and not knowing why. Thank you so much everyone for your help! Hopefully that fixes the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good quality gaming psu for under/around 150? I wanna be able to add another graphics card and better ram at some point. A new motherboard will happen soon too (I'm not sure that matters lol.

Anyway,when you're choosing right power supply for your computer RAM,CPU,MOBO are somewhat irrelevant.It's important that power supply can supply your system with stable voltage and current.Also important factor is graphics card,high consumer of electrical current ,hard drivers and also future of your computer (will you upgrade it with another graphics card for SLI or Crossfire),more hard drives,external drivers etc.You want to check what's recommended Amperage for your graphics card,in this case GTX660 which is 24.You would want more than 40 Amps on that +12V1 rail.And that's real power of power supply , 12Volts * 40Amperes = 480 Watts.You want that real power to be as much as closer to power that manufacturer rated that power supply.In your case power supply was rated 550W.Power on +12V1 rail is 480W.You would want more if possible power on +12V rail as it is most important rail in power supply.
Since you're planning to get another graphics card,is that going to be another GTX660 for SLI?If it so you would need more than 65 Amperes on that +12V rail.

At some point yes my upgrades include a new mb, more ram, and an additional graphics card. Are you able to use 2 processors at a time? Maybe a stupid question lol but I'm sure if so he'll end up wanting an additional lol

Well you're not building multi-processor server so you won't/can't use more than one CPU.You can only use one CPU.
What graphics card are you planning to buy?Do you have an idea?
If you tell me then I can recommend you a new power supply.

Voltages are static.What I meant by power supply having static voltages is that you get a good and quality supply not some cheap and weak one (as you could see your power supply for some reason didn't gad good voltages ,instead 12 Volts it outputted 8.8 Volts).Amperage is our focus.What do you mean by piggybacking two different brands? (Do you mean can you use two graphics cards?)

if it doesnt work out than no harm done. I'll then figure out what im looking at. or if you have a suggestion that'll probably be what i get as i really dont wanna get screwed over again with these silly things. =]

No,you can't use two different brands of graphics card,it has to be two same cards.You'll need another Evga GTX660 for an SLI(two combined GTX660).
