Lil background: I just got hit by a cryptolocker, luckily I had my current work on Dropbox, and I was able to isolate my other PC before it synced the cryptolocked files and was able to recover my files BUT I want to up my backup and security game.
I have been looking into NAS and versioning backups. What devices plus software would be the best combo for achieving this. It would help tremendously if the software did not require the NAS to be mapped as I read that cryptolocker can propagate on to any mapped drives, therefor if I am hit again my backups will be useless.
I hope this is the correct section, or even the best site to ask this. If I am wrong on either or both of those accounts, please point me in a better direction!
Thanks a lot
