Solved Navigation part of windows explorer not showing up in certain programs

The navigation part of windows explorer not showing up. The part that you would usually see on the left side, and choose desktop folder or one of your pinned folders and navigate to desired location for saving a file.

Here are examples:

This shows up when saving a word file

This shows up when trying to switch default save folder for chrome

This shows up when trying to upload pictures to imgur

not sure how to fix this. Please help

Hi, check if Navigation panel is checked or not.

To do this open any window go to Organize ==>Layout and then check the option Navigation Pane.

Yes it is checked, once I uncheck it the white space to the left goes away. I check it again and the same white space appears back.

check your system for virus, Run anti malware as soon as possible. This can be a virus attack.

Have you also checked for Spywares and malwares? Use Spybot- Search and destroy. Install this, run the program and reboot your PC.

Ok I downloaded the program, installed, and scanned. It found nothing. After I restarted the same problem was there.

Have you checked for system file corruptions?

1. Click Start

2. In the search box, type cmd
3. In the list that appears, right-click on cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator
4. In the command window that opens, type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

Report the output from the command window once it finishes.
