Well, I am not ashamed to admit that I don’t know how to use a direct Ethernet connection on a Notebook PC as I’ve never tried it before.
So with that said… I’d like to know if I simply plugged the Ethernet in, if it would “autodetect” the connection or else if I’d have to set up a LAN network for it first? And after I get that going, how do I tell the NIC to stop feeding off of the wireless network, and use the physical connection instead?
The reason I want to try this is to see what the hype is all about with the CAT6 Ethernet that I just picked up. I only get between 150 and 300Mbps on the wireless right now… so it would be sweet to primarily be on Gigabit speed instead, most of the time anyway.
Thanks so much in advance, you guys rock as always!
