hi, running an acer laptop with win7 home premium and definitely clicked the wrong thing last night. well, my intent the other night was to make an invisible file folder visible in my 'named' system folder, ( the one with your name on it and has music/download/document/etc folders in it) but instead I made that 'named' folder disappear, it is still there somewhere 'cause music and videos contained in it still play from links to them I have elsewhere. also since this happened I cannot access the net thru firefox, as I get a 'firefox still running, close previous before opening new' message and this also won't allow me to view Netflix using IE because Silverlight is somehow tied into the mystery firefox app running ( I get the same message as previously mentioned when I try to open/reinstall Silverlight). anyone have a clue as to how I might undo my mistake?, any advise greatly appreciated, thnx

I don't know anything about invisible folders or why that should affect Firefox, but I have seen that "Firefox is still running" message.

I don't know why that message comes up when it appears Firefox is not running, but you can go into Task Manager and kill the Firefox process, and then restart it.

What's the purpose of invisible folders?

Right click the folder, and choose restore previous versions. Go back a day or so and restore the folder. This will undo what you did.

Your awesome for reading this.
If Andrew's suggestion doesn't resolve it
Try this
Open a Command Prompt window
You should be in your profile folder
type dir

you should see your folders (docs, music, pix, vids,...)

type cd ..
type dir /a
do you see your named folder?

type attrib *.*

let's say your named folder is bob

Remember bob is just as an example - you will use the folder name for your login id.

type attrib bob
is there is just the H attribute shown (maybe A... H... bob)
type atrib -h bob

if there is SH shown (or HS)
type attrib - s -h bob

type dir

do you see your folder?
