I'm experiencing emails being deleted through the live feed from Cox.net (My email provider). So I'm trying to get Outlook to consistently archive my account to my computer whenever an email comes in to save it. I also do not want it to delete anything until I manually do it. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks, DWreck.

Hi DWreck1995, welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Are you actually receiving all the emails from your IP?. So I assume that when you open & read them they are being deleted.

You can check whether you have "keep emails on server". To do that select File & then Accounts, then select Change for the Email Account in question, then click on the More Settings button, then select the Advanced Tab & towards the bottom you will see a couple of check boxes, one says Leave a Copy of Mail on Server & there are 2 others, one is for selecting the period of time to keep the mail on the server. The other is self explanatory.

If there is no way of keeping your mail on the server, you can set up a new folder in the same area that has your Inbox, Sent Items etc. & name it something like Emails to keep, which is what I have done, then just drag the email from the email notification area into your new Folder. or you can right click on it & select Quick Steps & your new folder should be listed to move it there.

Get back if you have any questions or problems.

The inbox is filling supposedly filling up according to an admin message I received. Then I noticed the inbox and sent box was wiped. So I would like Outlook to saved any old and new emails that come in and only delete them when I choose too.

I am not sure what you are saying. Have your Inbox & Sent been removed from Outlook. What caused that to happen. Normally emails should stay on the IP server for a period of time, in my case at least 14 days.

When I open Outlook it does a search for emails & downloads any new ones, but all my old emails are still showing in Outlook. If I don't want to keep them I delete them.

Have you contacted Cox.net & asked them for advice. Normally email service providers will assist getting your email service set up.

The folders weren't removed but they were empty when they were supposed to have mail in them. I think Cox deleted them due to space filling up. So I want to start saving them locally to my PC through Outlook so the Cox storage wont fill up. That will allow me to delete my messages though Cox but still see them in Outlook.
