need help plz - Aero not working

hey every body
i have laptop DELL inspiron 6400
with prossesor intel core 2 CPU T7200 @2g.h
with 1GB RAM
with VGA ATI Mobility radeon X1400 256 MB
i installed windows 7 build 7000
it works good but the Aero dosnt work coz the win7 didnt know it
i dont know what's the reason
but i think u may help me to fix that

I heard thet aero might not work with only 1GB RAM, if you can i would suggest upgrading your RAM a bit, im running aero at 1.5GB, so it doesnt take much

actually oversoul it should work with 1gb of ram...
i have a desktop with 1gb and a IGP running aero (so it would be theretically less memory about 786)...

what im thinking is that your video card might be too old...
this is a low end class video card...

ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 is part of the lower middle class. The performance can be compared with an elder X600, but technically it is a X1300, which is scarcely 100 Mhz higher clocked.
For not very demanding DirectX 9 games the card is sufficient.
Because of the AVIVO video technology the card can help the CPU decode MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, WMV9 and VC-1 video formats.

since in order to use aero you either need a 3.0 wei or wddm 1.0 or wddm 1.1 driver...

sorry, it was just something i had heard, and more RAM is always useful anyway, but the video card could also be the problem, although i have never had any problems:sarc:

yes your are correct about the ram...
i am suspecting that either does not have the necessary video drivers installed
..
or that those drivers dont support aero..

a thought have you downloaded the Ati drivers?
the catalyst drivers should help you up the score...
