Need help with factory reset.

Hi everyone. I have had an Hp G60t-200 laptop for about 5 years and I want to do a factory reset. I have way too much stuff on it and would like to just start out with a clean slate again.

There is a problem. It orgionally came with windows vista pre-installed without the OS disks. I got the Windows 7 upgrade disks when windows 7 came out. I do not have the full version of Windows 7 OS nor do I have the Vista disks, which I don't think would be much help anyway.

My version of Windows is Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit Service Pack 1. I do have all the partitions in the recovery drive, but I'm not sure if they can help. Also I never made a system image at the time, because I was like 10. I do have a system recovery disk, but so far they have been no help. I do not want to keep any of the files and I have backed up all the important files, pictures, videos, etc...

Please help. None of the forums I have gone to had a solution. Thanks.

You can download the ISO of windows 7 OS - bit version you have and burn to a disc. Then do a clean install with that. Making sure to use current Product Key. If you can't find it, use Belarc to show you.

Thanks. Do I have to burn it onto a disk? or can I put it on a flash drive/external hard drive? Because the file is like 3gb and the cds I have can only store 700mb

Also I am running it from my external hard drive but when I try to run the installation process it says I am missing files to install the program.

You need to burn it to a disc...a dvd disk, this makes it a bootable disc. You have to change your boot order in the bios to boot from cd/dvd drive.
