Recently I've installed several new software titles. I do use Norton Security, and Revo uninstaller. It's been a few days, so I don't know what cause change...

I noticed my screen stayed dim when I plugged in, contrary to my power settings... When I checked there is some new power plan that was never present before and I cannot change anything now with the power settings..

The power settings name is: 'imfcpowersaver'.

- Has anyone ever seen/heard of that power config or aware of what software may have caused?

- Are there window logs or something I can track down specific changes to power configurations

- How can I delete or remove the damn unwanted crap so hopefully I can once again get my settings to be applied?

Thanks..

Why not go into control panel and uninstall those that you recently installed?

Hello coldengray, If uninstalling the programs does'nt work and it has only been a few days maybe a system restore would get you back to normal.

When you do a system restore, are the later dated restore points discarded?

No, and you can go back to the state it was in before you did the system restore.

Yes, that's it... I think I got it sorted out - just restored an image I'd made before. Question is, I guess, how much am I gonna have to reinstall - gonna look into.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner- just got back home.
THANKS

imfc power scheme is installed by a Xilisoft product, most likely a Video/Audio converter application. The power scheme is changed to prevent sleep/hibernation during conversion operations.
