Solved Need More SATA Slots

I have been looking at the prices for a SSD. I had planned on keeping my other two HD as they both have a function. == I checked my Motherboard today and was surprised to find I only have two SATA slots which are both being used. My Motherboard was purchased when I had a PC built in 2006. It appears I got a cheap MB. The only available slot is a PCI-E. It is not the one for the Graphics Card as that is being used. It is the one that has the very short slot for a card. I am assuming there is no way to get a card that can be used for SATA slots with the remaining slot I have. If anyone has good news for me, let me know. Thanks,

look on newegg.com they have ssd that go in pci express but they cost way more then a sata ssd

Maybe go with an external USB Hot-swap drive docking station

If your description is accurate, then that sounds like a perfect option for a PCIe Add-On Card with SATA ports - and they are dirt-cheap.

This is probably what you are after (note the 2 x SATA ports on the card):

Good idea if you can afford it, I wish I had one. I think you'll find though that they need a PCIe X4 slot and I'd bet the OP's PCIe slot is only a X1 slot.

That card it the one I need, the short slot. Your link says PCI-E X1 which is what my manual says. I had looked around but did not find that one. Thanks so much.

I think Golden's idea to add a PCIe SATA card is the way to go. Just make sure it will work in a PCIe X1 slot if that is what you have on your motherboard.

This also works as I have both styles but if you go with the PCI-e then look for a 6g version sata III.
