Solved Need New Antivirus

Hi all need new antivirus in 24 days, so my bitdefender tells me, although bitdefender been ok from day to day, I've had two major infections resulting in reinstalls over two different windows systems it didn't detect?????

anyone recommend a better programme I did buy on recommend from pc pro??

I like MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). Having said that, there were enough times it caused conflicts with other apps that I changed to MalwareBytes. You have to manually run the free version. The paid version has automatic scheduling.

I use Malwarebytes Anti Malware Pro. It works very well but it is NOT a anti virus program.
You will also need a anti virus program.
I also use MSE and it's free from Microsoft. Some like it and some don't. Their are millions of people in the world use MSE.

I advise you to install and use the following security programs so you do not get infected again:

-Panda antivirus -You can only have 1 antivirus installed at a time, I recommend using this one and uninstalling what you are using now.

-Malwarebytes
-Superantispyware
-Should I remove it

Run them around once every 2 weeks.

Should I remove it is not a malware scanner. What it does is it looks at all of the installed programs on your PC and gives you a percentage % of how many people uninstall the software. If the percentage % is high, I would remove it as it is most likely not a good program. It also gives a ton of information about what the program does and how it behaves.

I also suggest using a standard user account in windows, and only using an admin account when you need to install software:

When using a standard account and you make a change or install a program that affects the whole system, UAC will prompt you to continue. Make sure the setting or program you are tying to install is listed, then click yes to continue. If you are just browsing the web and the prompt appears with a program you have not heard of, or do not know what it is, it is much safer to click no then yes. No will block the action, and if you were trying to do something, you can always start it again and choose yes.

I too used Bitdefender Total security which was fine but, and its a huge but, I started to notice that my boot time was getting longer and longer. It took me a while to find out the cause and it was infact Bitdefender. Having sussed out the problem I did a bit of research and found that I wasn't alone and that many users were having exactly the same problem. Bitdefender had tried to sort the problem but without any joy.
I have removed Bitdefender and now use he latest version of Kaspersky PURE 3.0 which is running perfectly. It is far less of a resource hog and I have had no problems with boot up. I am back to anything from 35-50 seconds which is fine by me.

I have used Norton NIS for years with no problems. The lasted update to NIS 2014 ver 21.3.0.12 is very stable.
I also run Malwarebytes Pro ver 2.0.2.1012 which is also very stable.

Me I run Kaspersky 2014 and MALWAREBYTES premium no problems there.

Take a look at the AV Comparatives before you make up your mind up though always better to research for yourself as many have favourites and will recommend them

I had just reinstalled having upgraded just about everything a rebuild as u would say but now have 265 days left ? on the bit bitdefender licence ? ........ but also using malwarebytes next time I have to pay gunna get malwarebytes with antivirus
