Need source for Win7 64-bit Home Premium ISO

My HP laptop got trashed during an attempted Win10 upgrade, so I need to do a Repair Install. Problem is, I don't have install media and the OEM disk that HP will SELL me, from what I read here, can not be used to do a Repair Install.

So ... I went to the Microsoft Software Recovery site, entered the "CD Key" for this installation (the one I'm running now), because it won't take OEM CD keys, and got the error message that the ISO is not available in English and to select another language!

I have two other non-OEM Win7 machines, so I tried the CD keys for both of them -- and got the same error message each time.

This Microsoft Software Recovery site is less than worthless!! MY guess is that MS does not want you actually downloading Win7, so they have this "broken" site up just to frustrate folks.

Since Digital River is gone, unless I want to pay $100 for a new Windows 7 DVD, I don't know anywhere else I can download a legit ISO file.

Anyone have any suggestions?

It might actually be able to recover your personal files and windows old folder on a long shot :/

Some times you just have to take a punch on the chin and pay for another oem/ system builders of 7 sp1
Then to reward the computer manufacture for not sending reinstall disks on sells of units.

Legit meaning from an authorized source? I'd think if this is what you mean then by definition there aren't such sources for the ISO.

Legit meaning unaltered and the byte for byte equivalent of a download from an authorized source?

If the latter, I'd imagine there are plenty of sources via a search engine. I can't name one as I've never been in your position.

Any Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit disk you can mooch from a neighbor or man in the street will work and is "legit" as far as I know. All you'd need is your own legit key.

I'd guess it's not even within MS rules for someone to put the ISO on their own web site for 10 minutes and password protect the site so you and you alone could download it.

Personally--I'd take a chance on a random download or two rather than repay.

Use the ISO file name as a search term.
