Need to change write attributes in ProgramData

Trying to run a proprietary program called ACG (Automatic Call Generator) on a freshly built Win7 Professional server. The ACG will not run because it cannot write to the logs in 'C:\ProgramData\Mitel\AutoSDK\ACG\Logs as ProgramData and it’s sub folders are set as read only.

In Win7, the Administrator is by default not enabled. I’ve enabled the Administrator and am able to log in as Administrator but still cannot change the attributes with access denied error. I’ve also tried running attrib -r drive:\<path>\<foldername> to no avail.

Any help greatly appreciated.

...what if you take ownership and assign yourself as having auditing privileges in properties of the Log folder...

I have tried everything I can think of. I am the Administrator, I try and change the attribute to be able to write and there's a pop up saying I need Administrators permission which I give but still get access denied.

Have you been in the advanced security properties of the Logs folder? Take ownership, set auditing permission, using your UserName as in Administrators Group... you have to drill down about six pages, after that you can change the attributes...

Yes. On the logs folder itself, I have gone through these steps. Going all through this does allow me to change the attribute of the Logs folder however when I close the properties dialog box and recheck the attributes of the Logs folder, it is again back to read only. I suspect it's the read only attributes of the top folder, ProgramData

Folders dont have a read only attribute. The checkbox in the properties will always be filled with a solid box.
