Hello everyone,

I have upgraded my work computer to Intel i5 2500K processor and Windows 7. Unfortunately one of my most critical software does not run in 7. I know there are ways to dual boot XP and 7, but I don't have the time or ability to do that, it is too complicated for me. So, I just want to reinstall XP, but when I try, right after the drivers instal it crashes to the Blue Screen of death. I have a SATA drive in this computer, could this be causing this? Do I need to install SATA drivers? It is a WD 500gb Blue Caviar Hard Drive.

Thanks

I am about to pull my hair out over this issue. I have been working on it all day.

These are my computer specs:

Asus P8P67 LE Motherboard
8gb Kingston Ram 1600 Mhz
Intel i5 2500K Processor
Western Digital 500gb Caviar SATA drive 6 gbs
Radeon HD6770 Graphics Card
Motherboard manual says it supports Windows XP SP3, which is what I have

Windows 7 Ultimate installs and runs perfectly and is now on the machine. I was trying to set up a dual boot with XP because I have a key piece of business software I have to be able to run and it only runs in XP. I have given up on Windows 7 and just want to install XP, but every single time it crashes all the way to the blue screen of death right after the files load and it is about to begin installing Windows XP. Does anyone have any ideas what is happening?

Thanks

First check for all the Win XP drivers for your hardware on the manufacturer's web site.
If your Win XP CD, does not support your Sata Controller, you will need to load drivers to uses at F6.
Load Sata Controller drivers with a floppy disk is the best way.

Have you tried installing this software in Win7 Compatibility Mode
This tricks the program into thinking it's being installed in XP.

Consider virualizing XP using free XP Mode in Ultimate or Pro, or Virtual Box, Virtual Player, or VM Ware. Or upgrade the software rather than returning to an XPired OS.

This Happened To Me Aswell, Just Try To Install With An Usb Stick :D
