Need to Replace Laptop Battery

No. "0%" is actually the failsafe point set by the battery's chip to protect it from under-volting.

Search ebay for US based sellers of your laptop battery. I bought mine on ebay, and it even had the HP spare OEM sticker on it for my DV9000

I bought a 12 cell battery for my HP Pavillion dv5t on eBay, and had a problem I didn't anticipate. I'm in the US and purchased the battery from a seller in China. The seller was extremely nice, but the battery was apparently a clone of some kind, cause it didn't fit properly into my laptop (and kept falling out -- totally disconnecting me). To make a long story short (and the key word here is loooooooong!!!) - first it took over 4 weeks to get the battery --- then there were several weeks of discussion and multiple requests for pictures (which I provided) --- and finally, I realized that it would be at least another 4 weeks or so until I got the battery, with some very very expensive shipping costs BOTH ways, cause I had to ship the original battery back to the seller in China before she would ship the new battery to me in the US. (Yes, the seller SHOULD HAVE paid the shipping, but she wasn't going to.)

So, I ended up just keeping the original battery and I got some duct tape and taped it in place in the battery slot. Looks awful, but it works. The battery cost me about $60, so it was a big savings, but jeez, I don't know if it was worth it!

That's why I implore people to look for US sellers on ebay. I hate what ebay has become, but it's cheap and useful sometimes. I get all my LED's direct from hong kong, and get 50 of them for the price of 10 @ any local store, of the same brand LED (same packaging and everything) :p
