Network Adapter

I would like to replace my built in Network Adapter with a card. The built in is a Intel(R) 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network connection. I'm using Windows 7Pro 64 bit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What would be the reason? That is a good network card, solid, supported, updated, and typically works forever without problems.

I'm having a problem that sometime when I boot it won't connect and then I do a restart and it connects. This is starting to happen quite often. I thought the adapter might be starting to give me some problems. I no there a good adapter but sometimes even good go bad.

Its probably not the adapter, but the "homegroup". Homegroup on some systems has connectivity problems.

You can test it yourself by setting up a new network connection using 'workgroup" instead. If it fixes the problem you can then disable IPv6 and kill homegroup

I was in a homegroup and I removed myself from it. How do I go about setting up a workgroup?

A USB dongle may be an easy option to test your problem, especially since they typically cost less than $20. I even got one the other day from NewEgg for $9.95 (free shipping).

When I boot up I get a yellow exclamation mark over my symbol in the task bar and it stays that way for about a minute before I get an Internet connection and it goes away. I'm in a Home Group now so can I disable IPV6?
