Hello

I'm still using the best windows 7 - I was taken over by the visuals. I hate pastel colors!

Regarding the subject, the problem is the following

I still have internet access and it works

But something is missing. Look at the picture

And also the icon in the tray bar is crossed out - as if there is no cable connected or no network adapter

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this_

Tnx ;)

Does your computer have a wired, wireless, or both network adapter? You said you were connected to the Internet. How are you connecting? In Network and Sharing Center click on Change adapter settings. You will see how you are connected.

Below you will see I have 2 wired network adapters and 1 wireless adapter. I can connect with any of them. You see I am connected to one of the wired adapters. The other two have an X next to them.

BOTH of you are showing "secondary" connections as your primary
meaning at some point there was another adapter/ROUTER/Modem in use

as we dont know whats installed on the OP comp it does make life difficult

if i was him i would reset my router/modem....
1) disconnect ethernet cable
2) remove the unknown network
3) reset Router/modem
4) reconnect Ethernet cable..... and the expected behaviour is to automatically connect -- without a password
(the Network settings should then show the Router/Modem connections SSID and the password under the details tab)

I don't know about the OP but I don't know what you are talking about. What do you mean by secondary connection? All the network connections I show are valid. My ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard has{

Two Ethernet ports:
1. Integrated chipset Ethernet controller 10/100 Mbps
2. Marvel Yukon Ethernet controller 1000 Mbps

It also has a PCI card for WiFi:
Linksys WMP54GV4 wireless 802.11 b/g
