I have a recently build from parts HP 705 G1 DM that was working fine the other day. Today nework path not found.

I can view other connections in network on all computers but trying to connect get the error.

Another strange issue related: I was connected via WiFi the other day. Today when could not access I plugged in the ethernet cable and the pc appears on network but still says "no network path found"

In addition the wired LAN connection has captured the SSID name of the WiFi network? And even if I disable the wireless in device manager, leaving only the Ethernet port active it still insists it is connected via WiFi with the SSID showing ??

I made no changes since the other day so cannot figure out why the LAN port thinks it's a wifi connection and I can view the PC on the network but cannot access those shares.

Basic share is for NETWORK with all permissions. Added for testing purpose EVERYONE but still no dice.

Since I built this to share files it is really putting a crimp in my plans to use it.

Yes I can access the internet I just cannot access other devices on the LAN.

When I go to advanced share everything is okay. When I go to the drive via network connections, open locally and try to set security for NETWORK it says I don't have permission to change.

Im going bonkers!

Any help most appreciated

Hi paulkruger,

There is a known problem with one of the latest updates causing this or a similar issue. Downloading KB4487345 has worked for a few people! Download KB4487345 from here => MS Update Catalog KB4487345.

If this problem is recent, you can use System Restore to roll back the OS to a date prior to the problem happening. This could possibly resolve your problem.

I hope this helps!

That fixed the path not found. Can now access again. One nagging problem remains that technically does not really have a negative effect other than it drives me nuts!

When I view the adapter settings it shows it a connected to a wifi SSID but I removed the device driver in the process so there is only they built in LAN connector?

Why would it continue to display the SSID name with NO wifi enabled? Makes no sense to me.

Hi paulkruger,

I am glad that solution worked for you.

One nagging problem remains that technically does not really have a negative effect other than it drives me nuts!

When I view the adapter settings it shows it as connected to a wifi SSID but I removed the device driver in the process so there is only the built in LAN connector?

Why would it continue to display the SSID name with NO wifi enabled? Makes no sense to me.

I would assume that it is a default setting, regardless of whether it is used or not!
