Network Printer Not Detected

I am using a HP Laser Jet 2200d printer on a LAN connected to the router. My objective is to make the printer wireless by connecting it up to this WRT54G LINKSYS router. I have the drivers installed on my computer, however it's not being detected on the network. When I hop on to the router and look up the DHCP configuration table but nothing shows up except for my computer. Though the light indicators are displayed and flash, conveying a good and operating connection on the port where the printer is connected to, I'm not seeing it inside the router configuration at all.

I am truly stumped.

Have you assigned it an IP address? That might get it recognized. Others will give more help on this one.

I've not. But how can I assign it one without being able to identify it anyway? What I'm asking is, how would the IP address direct toward it? I can't see the printer within the router configuration settings, so how would I actually assign it an IP?

If you can see the printer in "Devices and Printers on your primary computer you should be able to see it on any other machines.
Also look in the Network and Sharing Center and see if it is in there. Is the Linksys being shown? May I also suggest that you take a look at Epson's WF-2650 User Guide for an excellent read on setting up a wireless connection. I would think HP has one as well, btw.
I will defer to someone with more network experience in your situation.

Did you enable sharing option of your printer?..
Otherwise it will never recognize in other computers whom you want to share the printer..

jc836, I do see the printer on my computer, however that is merely because of the driver's installed. When attempting to print, the documents go to queue and never get printed. Windows' troubleshooting doesn't detect the problem either. Hell, it doesn't even pick up the printer in command prompt anyway.

As for the manual, I have skimmed through it over to the networking. I'll look over it again. Perhaps I've missed something.

comptech, I have enabled sharing options for everything, didn't make a difference. Also, the selected network is a Work network so that doesn't appear to be the issue here either.

The installed driver's are that of the default drivers by which the printer installs itself when connected directly through USB. So, could these be the wrong drivers since I'm actually trying to connect to it, wirelessly, through a router as it is connected through a network cable?

If my understanding is correct, you cannot have it both ways without both sets of drivers (wired&wireless). Each computer on the network has an IP address. The one that the printer is directly connected is primary and you can tell all of the other machines to use that address (sort of like a print server arrangement). That is one configuration option for wired.
