From your description, you're having a network issue between your cable or dsl company and your router. Network issues in Windows do not exhibit that behavior. Boot into another OS for a while and see what I mean.

it sounds more of a driver issue....
it would be a better test to test it in vista and see if these still issues occur (meaning your gaming issues)...

love my wacom pen and pressure sensitivity...
wished it worked in 7, SUSE for that matter though
this adapter doesnt require drivers, it pl7ugs into the etherent port and acts like a wired connection, so if anythings wrong it would be my ethernet port drivers which are fine

I had that same adapter. Swtich to the Apple Time Capsule. Haven't had a problem since I switched :)

Normally I don't advertise Mac stuff, but this is a really good product.

I call it the craptop.

dont be too sure here baarod. my example: this cheapie belkin G adapter crapped out alot in the 7k beta, now in 7100 it seems to "stabilize" a bit better. This happened more often than not under a "heavy load"... router is fine, and modem is fine, lappy doesnt have this problem on the network with the built-in. Tho i am only on day 3 of this, so more to come i'm sure. but so far, there seems to be some improvement in this area. Tho its not been perfect mind you. A few times it lost connection, but i didnt have to go jumping thru hoops to get it back connected, sometimes that involved a reboot. It seems to "fix itself" better now if/when this happens in my case.

slyr114, if you did an upgrade, this could be your problem. Secondly, try assigning a static IP to the adapter if you havent already. Also you can try switching channels, try 1 or 11 instead of 6 or 7. Depending on other electronics in the area, this could be an issue. Also any fluorescent lighting. There's a start anyhow.
