"The procedure entry point RtlTryAcquirePebLock could not be located in the dynamic link library NTDLL.DLL." System worked fine the day before no updates or anything was apply, just turn it off for the day and now this error, any idea what up? So far did a sfc/scannow and waiting for the results as I type this.

When I googled RtlTryAcquirePebLock there wasn't much info available. Only one thing kinda stood out. A poster on another forum got the same error message as you and it turned out his SSD went belly up.

Couple of things you can try besides the sfc. I'd run a full scan with your installed and updated anti-virus suite. No AV product is 100% effective 100% of the time (if there was such a thing we'd all be using it.) Run a couple more free on-demand scanners just to double check your primary AV. the more scans that come back "no malware found" the more likely it is your computer is malware free.

If you have a restore point that goes back far enough, you can try rolling back your computer to a date/time before the first occurrence.

One of the Forum experts prepared a troubleshooting tutorial that also includes some hardware diagnostic checks.
