I would just like to thank everyone that helped (It was driving me insane)
As an update I used one stick of Ram at a time (in slot 1) and opened as many ram intensive programs at once and the first stick was happy no complaints.
So I tried it with the second stick and about half the programs failed to open (World of warcraft even had a memory access violation
)
I am now returning the Ram and going to buy some nice new 4gb sticks
