Hi guys,

Something odd is happening with the new rig ive built.

It is working flawlessly on a clean install of W7 HP 64bit aside from one rather annoying issue: when i put it into sleep mode, after a few minutes it wakes back up again.

things ive tried to rule out so far:

Its not the mouse. If i put into sleep mode i can wiggle the mouse (its corded and into usb) to my hearts content but it wont wake it up.

Im not aware of any programmes I have which might wake it up. Its a clean install and the only programme with anything scheduled in it is macrium and that a 7am backup and thats not working for other reasons (different thread) so i dont think its this. Not to mention its well after 7am!

Not the keyboard as its not being touched.

Any thoughts?

It might be worth mentioning my computers (i have 3 - a lappy and 2 box pc's) are all connected to a billion 7800n router. Thats how they get internet. All connected by wire aside from lappy which is wireless.

My old PC has no problems sleeping and staying asleep nor does the lappy. just the new build.

Interestingly i also have a synology disk station (DS411j) and that is having trouble hibernating too. Its as if there is something on the network waking it up? But the synology forums are pretty quiet and a bit useless tbh

Any ideas oh clever ones?

Ta
Matt

Other Info
I built this three years ago. It was very fast at the time. Now it's about average but still runs any game I throw at it at max detail.

Currently
Most newer motherboards have options in bios for what can wake the computer from sleep. Disable the items you do not want to be able to wake the computer up.
