I'm sure you could use your 9800, but with both boards if you install 2 graphics cards they will run X8X8. I don't know much about graphics cards and don't know how much difference that will really make. As far as your DVD and HDD, that should be no problem as long as they are sata.

Power phases: Much of a diff?
I'm almost set upon the Extreme6.
Not sure though. Still thinking and reading.

Ok, sorry to beat around the bush so friggin much
But for a gamer and occasional CS5 designer who needs this board to break as little as possible
I want speed, reliability, and coolness (temperature wise, don't care about looks) I want to be able to press the power button without having any fear (With my last PC I always was afraid to press the power switch.)
Which would be the better board?
I am at a loss. I know they are both great, but I want to be 100% sure because there can be no regrets.
I know they are both almost on par as to features, but which board is better suited towards what i want from it stated above?

No one knows.

Both brands have certain failure rates. Either could be DOA. Which is more likely to give you reliability issues is anybody's guess. Flip your favorite coin--at least on the reliability issue. You'll never be sure. Either could just quit working.

But you knew all of that.

I don't own the Sabertooth so I can't say anything about it. I have the extreme4 so I can tell you about that. As far as I am concerned it is steady as a rock. I've messed around with the settings in bios too much before and it would not load windows and would BSOD. But, from the first time I pushed the start button I have never done anything that will keep it from POST. As long as it will post you can get into bios and fix it. That's about all I can say. Everything works and there are no quirks in bios. Make your selection, just make sure you buy it from some place that has an excellent return policy. If you put it together and don't like it, you will have a month to return it. Besides, what are you gambling, $200 at the most? In building a computer $200 is not that much. You are going to spend more than that on your graphics card. But, I really don't think it will come to that. Just make a decision, order the board and don't look back.

If it would help you I could show you shots of the bios itself. But that would be like me pushing Asrock and I am not. I can't show you the Sabertooth, I don't have one. Just remember, everyone who has built a computer has gone through what you are going through right now. I just researched and made my decision and have never second guessed myself. Whatever you buy is what you will have and you just have to deal with what you get. Whatever you choose, there is no quarantee it won't be DOA or have some other problems. That is the chance we all take. And that is the best advice I know to give you or anyone.

Shorter maybe. Not sure about better. I was referring to reliability only, not features, heat, speed, etc.

But I do understand the tendency to dither. At some point you just gotta pull a trigger or you will drive yourself crazy.

:( Sorry, today has been quite busy.
I've been considering Z68. I like the recent tests. I'm going to wait for the extreme6 Z68 (I'm not in too much of a hurry) (or if it is too expensive get the cheaper p67)
I have to make this decision by Monday.
But I'm set on the ASRock. My old asus broke over 4 times, don't want that again.
But, here goes the parts list :)
As for HDDs, I have about 900GBs of storage I can reuse, and I already have a Win7 :)
Presupuesto a medida. PcComponentes.com

I don't see anything wrong with that list, although I do see you changed MB. That looks like a great setup to me. You'll have fun building it. The only thing missing is an SSD.

As far as Bulldozer, very few prople know how it will actually perform. But, if you wait for Bulldozer, you'll begin wondering if Ivy Bridge will be better. If you wait for Ivy Bridge, you will wonder what the 2nd AMD line of Bulldozer will be like when they release it in the last Q 2011 or 1st Q 2012. The point is, no matter what you build, within 6 months it will be older tech. Technology is never going to stop. My advice is find a system that will do exactly what you need and go with it. If you worry about the next platform release, you will never build anything. Worse case is a new MB and CPU and you can rebuild. Most of us do that anyway. We were just talking on another thread about this very thing. It really dosen't matter if you don't have the newest and best out. It really matters that your system will accomplish what you do with your computer. When it gets to the point that what you have won't do it, rebuild. You'll never build any system that will be the best there is for any length of time. History tells us that.

Off my soapbox. Choose your system, have fun building it, and enjoy the hell out of it. Much of what I said may not make sense, but it's the best advice I know.

If you are set on Nvidia card, I would say go 570 over the 480. Not saying the 480 is abad card, but given the option, the 570 is IMHO the better choice.

The reason is, performance wise the 570 performs just as well, and in some cases a bit better than the 480.
Second, it runs cooler, and uses less power.
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/306?vs=309
And the SC edition of the 570 pretty closes what gaps there are even more, many times putting it ahead.

EVGA has a HD version of the 570, thats slightly cheaper with a $40 rebate.
This card vents partially outside, and partially inside the case however, so a case with good airflow will be needed.
Its also a bit shorter than the reference card, by 1"

The regular 570s use a Vapor Chamber to cool, and exhaust all outside.
They are identical as far as performance is concerned however.

Another good option may be the HD6950.
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/293?vs=309

Just a couple things to consider :)

You are too right...
I'm leaning towards P67 because Intel announced Ivy will work with P67. So if all of a sudden games require an octo core, then I guess it will be time for Ivy :) I chose the Sabertooth because it has what is important to me: Temperature control and a 5yr warranty. Can't ask for moar :)

Plus, my past experience with AMD is truly, truly sad. I DO NOT want to go thru that again. EVAR!

As to building my own system, I'm having the store build it. I can't gamble 1200€ now. I need this thing to work. Out of the box.

Though If I could wipe my arse with 50€ bills, then I would have already built me a Classified SR-2 with dual Xeons and a Quad 590 SLI :)

I'll post pics soon.

If you are set on Nvidia card, I would say go 570 over the 480.

The reason is, performance wise the 570 performs just as well, and in some cases a bit better than the 480.
Second, it runs cooler, and uses less power.

And the SC edition of the 570 pretty closes what gaps there are even more, many times putting it ahead.

Another good option may be the HD6950.

Just a couple things to consider :)

Over-budget :S

Also, any news regarding the Corsair H100?
