I recently changed my motherboard to an ASUS Maximus VI Hero and am unable to connect to my home network through a wired connection. It says 'Unidentified Network, No Network Connection.'
When I set the IP address to set automatically it gives me:
IP: 169.254.136.172
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0

I've tried enabling/disabling the network adapter driver, reinstalling the driver and setting a static IP. None of them worked. Is there a setting in the bios for this motherboard that I'm missing or is it just bad hardware and requires a replacement?

Any help is appreciated.

Did you right click on your network icon down the bottom right and choose troubleshoot problems ?

What does the network adapter look like in Device Manager ? All OK ?
