New GPU getting no signal

Got a replacement GTX 770 SuperClocked from EVGA today, after my 670 burned out. I'd been running on my older HD 6970 in the meantime. When I was ready, restarted in safe mode and ran display driver uninstaller (probably should've uninstalled Catalyst first) and shutdown.

Installed the GTX 770, and I'm getting no display at all, not a POST screen or anything. My keyboards LEDs are staying on too, which I'm assuming it's failing to POST. Tried HDMI and DVI display outputs. I'm currently on my intel VGA, and the drivers for that aren't even installed - shows up as 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' in device manager.

Any ideas guys?

You should have just installed the card and done a custom clean install of the nvidia drivers, this myth of removing the ATI drivers first is pure hogwash, it can be done later.

Test the new card in another machine.

What card did you get ? Post the model # EVGA doesn`t even list any new 770`s on the US site, so who knows what you got. (used/refurbished)

I think it's a standard 2GB model, don't know where I'd find out (Searched). I'm going to test it out later today on another PC. I've got in contact, but I'll need to wait after the weekends.

Tested on another computer, and it worked - or at least it worked on 1 monitor. I know it was the DVI-I port that displayed anything. This won't be practical for the future, because I tried DVI-I on my computer and got nothing, but putting it there in case for future.

So, I think it might be me not seating it properly, will try later on. Other than that, the computer I tried it on has a 800W PSU as apposed to my 650W. Could this be causing the issue?

OK, at this point I'm really not sure what the issue is. Tried seating it without any screws and the same issue - won't POST. Edited the last post with an update too, tested it on another PC. Could power be preventing POST? Can a clear CMOS help this?

Have to ask it, you have it set in BIOS before the 770 is installed, to NOT use on-board video?

I've just updated the BIOS (and default settings with it) to see if it solved it. So far, not really. I can have the 770 installed with the HDMI plugged into the motherboard and I'll hear it boot but see nothing, but if I plug in the 770 nothing again.

I'll hear Windows boot after this BIOS update, so that's went somewhere. It's just don't get anything from HDMI or DVI.

Sorry for the bump and double-posting, but this is going slowly. The BIOS update did actually help; Allows me to POST/boot (I can hear windows) but still don't receive a signal. Uninstalled my soundcard, didn't help. It should be select to the correct device in the BIOS (Gigabyte haven't made it so convenient) however don't know if it matters according to the settings available and the fact that I've left those untouched before without issue. EVGA also told me, that they test prior to sending replacements.

Any ideas?

You are plugging in the power from the PSU, correct ?

Your PSU is plenty enough.

Not that it really matters, but the model# should be on the back of the card, it`s a small white strip.

Yes, and the fan is working. Inadequate power wouldn't cause an immediate issue, surely.

I don't have that, however according to my products on EVGA's website, I have a superclocked edition.

You said the HDMI was plugged into the motherboard in one of your posts, OP, you care to revise that to plugged into the video card?

Swapped out the HDMI cable for another one?

Disabled in BIOS the on-board video, OK, I'd have pulled the card and checked it in another system by now, also.

are you hooking up the 8 and 6 pin connectors to the card? had to ask seen it before that they forgot to do that.
