Hey guys, noob here =)

I just upgrade from XP to Windows 7 not long ago, and while everything seems to work fine (knock on wood). There are some little things that's driving me nuts...

1. FIXED

2. Many of my usb's don't work, I have 3 Sandisk Cruzer usb's and only one of them is recognized and works with this computer. It's the first one I plugged in that I used to update drivers/BIOS with when setting the computer up.

3. My SimpleDrive 500gb external HDD also doesn't plug and play like it does with XP. I see the drive, but it says it's not accessible. I only got it to work after installing this "Button Manager" program that came with the HDD. I like to get rid of it though because A-squared picked it up as a "Riskware.Adware.Win32.Look2Me!IK".

4. Chipset drivers don't update properly. Windows refuses to find/install updates for it in Device Manager. So I downloaded and manually installed them, now I have 9.1.1.1013. Problem is, the drivers I got from the Asus site list it as 9.1.1.1020 lol. So I don't know what is going on... I also tried the Intel INF utility but it just loaded and says installation complete without installing anything... I have the Asus P7P55D Deluxe mobo.

5. Anyone here use Flashget? I want to be able to share it between the admin and user account (like being able to see what one account downloaded in the other, etc.)

----------
Just realized I wrote a lot haha, sorry about that but please bear with me. As I said, these were little things that I could live with and don't really matter that much. But this is the first computer I built and setup and everything so let's just say I want it to be perfect XD.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this because my questions are all over the place, so if not please move it to the correct forum, thanks.

Don't Pin the messenger to the taskbar, Try putting it in the Corner over to the right side if it instead.

1. I got messenger pinned to the taskbar, and I when I right click it on the taskbar to sign out, nothing happens.

right click the messenger executable\properties and run in vista compatibility mode to make it sit in the hidden icons bottom right on taskbar

Did changing out the chipset affect performance? Win7 installer and Updates are pretty much driver-complete and changing drivers isn't recommended unless there are performance issues. This is not XP or Vista, driver wise. MS sponsored the WHQL partnership to build drivers for Win7, so it has drivers first in installer and Updates.

Thanks for the replies guys, that's one problem solved lol.

As for the chipsets, nothing was wrong with them I just thought I'd bring it up to date since it's a newly built computer. And also because I've looked up the usb issues on the forum before and while none of the threads really apply to me, many of them suggested updating the chipset.

So I thought that could fix my usb problem too, but it didn't...

I also got a new question haha, sorry to add to the list but,
-anyone here use Flashget? I want to be able to share it between the admin and user account (like being able to see what one account downloaded in the other, etc.)

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks again!
