"Suitable". Hmmmmmmmmmmm..............what's in a word?

It will connect properly and will work if not defective, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

I'd get something else unless you are very constrained by budget or have no other choice from your one and only supplier.

I would not get a sata 3 Gbps if you are now using a sata 6 Gbps, unless you`re just gonna use it to store data, movies, images etc
