So basically got my school laptop yesterady, the internet worked fine at school but when I came home it wouldn't work. When I came to school again today it worked, when I came home again it wouldn't.

The internet connection showed that it was connected (

) but I don't got internet acess. Some restarts I have internet (pretty slow) just on the beginning, sometimes pages just loads forever or very long without connecting and sometimes it just loads a little bit and says network error.

I've been working with trying to fix it all day yesterday and like one hour today, and now I just want to get it done so I came here to make a thread. My network is fine with the computers/telephones in my house so it's not the router.

I've tried to use the windows network error checking tool, it just says that the strandard gateway isn't available (which is not getting automatically resolved) and it identifies a problem aswell that the connection between the router and internet has disconnected.

I have tried to...

* Restarted
* Changing battery network card settings to high priority
* Disconnecting, reconnecting
* Re-typing wifi password
* Deactivating ipv6
* Using a DNS
* Few CMD commands
* Changing an option called "dulex/rulex someting" or something that tells how much mb/s you should receive (or something like that) from router to automatically detect to 100mb/s, didn't make any difference either
..and more

windows 7 enterprise edition, i5, 4gb ram, 500gb HDD etc, everything new.

None of my other friends at school got this issue. I asked the computer guy but he's stupid, he asked me like 5 times if I had the right wifi password etc...

Help? :/

This is quite simple - The School is using a proxy within Internet Explorer. You must have admin rights for this to work.

On Internet Explorer, - Tools - Internet Options - Connections - LAN Settings - Untick the bottom box (Proxy)

Close and re-open IE, everything should be working.

Make sure you make a note as you will need to re-tick the box when you're next at school.

Regards,

already did but on chrome (rechecked now on IE, wasnt activated), still didn't work. And with it unchecked it still works fine in school

Does the network manager allow you to use this outside of school? If so, having a word with him/her shouldn't case harm.

Can you ping both 'www.google.co.uk' and '8.8.8.8'?

I did talk with him, but he just said he thought I did wrong and he can't fix it or some bullshit like that

I'm pretty much on my own with this problem... :/

Great.. The computer bluescreened, had to reset since an earlier stage and now there's only an admin account at login that I can't access
