New £1,500 gaming computer turns it self off while playing GTA IV!

My friend recently bought a high end gaming computer. But it turns it self completely off after about 5-10 minutes of playing GTA IV. This problem is not present in any other game.

Here are the specs of his computer:

Processor: AMD FX-8120, 8 CORE PROCESSOR, 3.10 Ghz
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16GB
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Graphics Card: he has two AMD RADEON HD 7900 SERIES with cross-fire
Fans: 5
HDD: 3TB (not sure of model/manufacturer)
PSU: XFX 850W
Case: Antec something.....

Can we get your event viewer logs?

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:


Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file here.

Thanks for the advice. But my friend has decided to do a factory reset of his entire computer, because he thinks he may have a virus.
If the problem persists after he resets it, well get back in touch.

Thanks for your help, It still doesn't work after the reset but my friend has decided to just never play GTA4 on his pc again. All his other gamnes work fine.
