Solved New Motherboard/CPU. Boots but W7 BSOD

My computer died. I replaced the motherboard with an ASRock z97 Extreme6 and an Intel 4790k. The machine will start fine and the BIOS, to the best of my ability, does not show anything amiss. When I boot into Windows it immediately blue screens and show a message to launch the repair program.

It says it can't repair the system. I'm trying to boot from the original DVD but no luck so far. Just boots into Windows and dies.

Any suggestions?

Can't get into safe mode unless there is a way to boot directly in.

Of course there is, rapidly press F8 at startup.

Can't get to the dump files as the BSOD only flashes then quits to a menu that asks to start the repair process or start normally. The repair process fails and I can't start Windows so I'm stuck all the way around.

Same thing happens if I attempt to start in Safe Mode.

Is there any solution other than installing to a new disk? If that is the only solution, how do I get all my programs back? I have been saving images taken with Macrium. Since Macrium is on the original "bad" disk, how do I access it? Any tips by others who have experienced this is greatly appreciated!

Curiously, if I recreate a new disk from a backed up image, wont I still have this same problem?

Have you tried connecting the 'bad' disk on another pc and try accessing the images from the other pc?

The images are on a backup disk on the original PC. I have no access to the original PC as I can only boot into the Bios.

If you are try to put your old system with the old motherboard drivers and setting and cpu on a new motherboard and cpu in my opinion you are asking for problems.

I highly recommend doing a Clean Install of Windows 7 and Programs on what is basically a new system and hardware.

It seems the general consensus is for me to install Windows on a new disk and go from there. This leads to the problem of how to get my programs off the old disk onto the new. I'm open to suggestions on how to do this.

On my systems I also install all programs new on the new install.

Most of my programs are software downloads so I have no discs to install from. Hopefully, I can "scrape" then off the old disc somehow.

Solved. Problem, for some reason was my version of Windows was not SP1 so the graphics drivers failed and killed the session. Don't know why but when I installed SP1, all the problems went away.
