So when I called thermaltake, they said that I could RMA it, but that they had the same (sort of) issue with an MSI test rig (the power on, then off, then back on).
Unfortunately, I don't have any proof of purchase (2 or so years old) to RMA it with.

I just don't know what the issue is....

I was wondering how the integrated graphics in the new CPU series hold up. I know they don't compare to a dedicated card, but wondered how close to being decent they are.

I can’t seem to get mine past 4.73Ghz. Got it to boot at 4.8Ghz but it crashed under load. I’m going to try reducing the bus back 100Mhz then increasing the multiplier to see if I can push it even further.

@ society misfit, that's a nice overclock for such a low voltage - 1.192. You say you can't get past 4.73, might it be that you don't have enough voltage? Again, looking at the voltage you have now seem awfully low. Also have you prime95 tested for stability?

Anyway if that thing is stable with those volts that's one hecek of a chip you have there.

Mine wont boot past 105MHz or x42 clock multiplier. I also tried to manually change the voltage, but it BSoDs with even 1.3, so I left it on auto.

Any thoughts?

Really with such new tech I would say search the net for people overclocking the these new chips and see what they have to say. Since you have an Asus board I would check with Asus forums.

I'm sure these chips are going to be a learning curve for quite a few people.

This is I found out. Apparently the max BCLK is only 105MHz (so I’ve read). So I reduced it back to 100MHz and increased the multiplier and added a little more juice to the CPU. I reached 5000MHz!!!!!!!!! (grabs beer to celebrate!).

Unfortunately I BSOD 4 min into a AIDA64 stress test. During the stress my temps peaked at 71C but on average they were around 65C…idle they sit at a nice 34C


Will toy with it a bit more and report back. But given that I reached 5GHz on air says a lot about this board and CPU….flawed or not!!

Oh, and this was done using the Asus AI Suite!
