New SSD running windows 7 - Desktop doesnt show icons...

Ok let me explain further,

Whenever i install a new program or download something to the desktop. Basically when anything new is installed or placed on the desktop, it doesnt show. I have to right click then refresh then all the newly installed/downloaded programs/icons show.

Never had this issue, im guessing something to do with the SSD?

Is there a way around this as its frustrating.
