New system, no BSOD, but frequent "___is not responding' Event ID 10.
My sys: Win7 64 bit Prem. Home Ed., AMD Phenom II X6, ASUS M4A88T-M socket AM3 mobo, 2X 4GB Corsair memory, 2TB Seagate Barracuda Green HDD, built Aug. 2012 by little ol' me.
My problem: Screen will freeze right after logging into user account, it will also freeze when we are in the middle of something (online or off line). Grrrr!. This happens more frequently to my husband (non-administrator) then to me (administrator). We try to go through normal shut down procedure and wind up having to force shut down. Sometimes we even have to purposefully crash it (unplug the tower).
When I check the Event Viewer I see over 3,000 events since Aug. 2012. Event ID 10 seems to proceed each instance of freeze. This is just one of about 20 different errors and warnings I'm finding in my Event Viewer.
Someone said to boot up in Safe Mode, find the "c:\windows\system32\wbem\repository" folder and delete it contents, then reboot normally twice. But he was talking about Vista.
My husband is upset
, since we've spent close to a grand on this machine. I am confused
to say the least and will appreciate any constructive help you can give.
Thanks!
