Just got it today, toshiba l455d-s5976, with windows 7

connects to my LAN wifi and also hard wired, but I cannot get beyond invalid IP address.

tried resetting ip6 and ip 4 ...both to get ip automatically

went in as admin and ran netsh winsock reset (etc)
and also netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

This type of problem is over my head, but it might help someone answer your question if you run ipconfig /all in a command prompt and posted a screenshot of the result on the forum.

I can't figure out how to get a screenshot of that, or how to get it to this computer that is connected, but here is most of the stuff

net BIOS over.... enabled

tunnel adapter
media disconnected
connection specific DNS suffix
Physical address 00-00-00-00-00-00------
DHCP enabled no
autoconfig enabled yes

tunnel adapter LAN 9
MS 6to4 adapter
Phys addresss 00-00-00-00-00-----
DHCN enabled no
autoconfig yes

tunnel isatap ......

MS ISATP adapter
00-00-00-00-00-00-00-----
DHCP enabled no
autoconfig enabled yes

It is all Greek to me. Is that enough of the info needed to make more sense of this?

Thanks.

disable one of them, doesn't really matter which at this point. So for example: disable your wireless connection completely... Uninstall if necessary. Keep your LAN adapter enabled and to automatically grab your dhcp and dns. reboot... then see if you get that error.

not much use tbh

the best way is with an active connection (obviously not properly connected) on the non working pc open a cmd prompt right clicked as admin

type in ipconfig /all (observe the space)
then with the active connection showing all info if pos in the cmd window simply press the windows key and type snip, click the top result of snipping tool then draw a box around the cmd window and save captured window, then move it over to your working pc and upload here :)

hope that works :)

Looks like you're running Road Runner cable modem from Central Florida. Reset your cable modem router and your wireless router. Your ethernet has an IP, but your wireless could be disabled from an earlier suggested post.

Are you using the same computer to post in 7forum?
