Just got my new Coby Kyros MID7015 Internet Tablet from Dell today. It's the cheap mans iPad...LOLOLOL. Not too bad if I do say so my self. They had them on sale for $169.99 and free shipping.

I'm typing this post with it right now. I'll post a pic shortly. :)

Hi, dobhar! :)

Nice! Have you tried the iPad? If so, how does it compare? Can you install 3rd party apps on the Kyros? What is the base OS?

Sorry for all the question, dobhar, just curious. :)

Sorry for taking so long to reply all...have been quite busy at work and watching sports (Football (go Packers go) and Curling).

No problem mikedl...(1) Yep, I have played with the iPad and if I had an extra $800 bucks I might have bought one...too many other things need my money...LOLOL :) The Coby, as I said a poor man's iPad, is similar to the iPad as it's a touch screen and you have apps (answers your question #2) to start with then you can also install 3rd party apps from Google. I "rooted" (Rooting is the process of gaining root access to Android. Android is based on the Linux operating system. Root access is superuser permissions (SU), much like an Administrator in Windows.) it so I can do much more (3) Android
Can you buy Apple stickers for it?
:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
Does it play Flash?
Hmmmm...not sure, it does not say on the info page. I will have to surf to a page that has flash and try it...I have a flash game on a page that I will try.
Can you buy Apple stickers for it?
I've got a few extras if he wants them ... free. ;)
I got a few myself from my iTouch's so maybe I'll add a couple...LOLOL :)

whs...Well, it works quite well for me but I only wear reading glasses about 50% of the time...mainly when I am tired. If you are interested in one then I would try one out before buying. Do you have a Barnes & Noble in your area?

Yeah, in fact this week we were planning to stop at B&N in Tampa. I wanted it for the wife. She wants to get at her Email wherever she goes. But I am afraid that I have to set it up.

How do you get to your mail. She uses AOL. Can you pull up AOL in their browser? I guess it works on the hotspots in e.g. McDo or Starbucks?

It does come with an e-mail app right out of the box...I use GMail as my main e-mail so I just had to input my GMail info and that's it. After I "rooted" it I got a GMail Widget that I inputted my info and now I use this for mail.

It also does come with a basic browser but I downloaded "Dolphin" browser app\Widget and use that. I tried both browsers and navigated to "aol.com". I selected the "Mail" tab and it took me to the log on screen where I could input a username\email and password.

Note...You have to use a on screen keyboard to input any text on this unit (ie: username and password).

It does have Wireless that you just have to turn on. It does come with a decent manual => http://www.cobyusa.com/files/manuals/MID7015_MN.pdf

If you do get one also get yourself an Micro SD card... bought a 16GB.
