Hi all

I've just rebuilt a PC (Not my system info) with an Intel H67 Chipset Motherboard from Foxconn and an NVIDIA GTX580 graphics card. I have a WD VELOCIRAPTOR 600GB 32MB hard drive and Power DVD 11 installed.

When I play a BD disk I get both video and audio stuttering. I have installed the Microsoft Video Decoder utility and it doesn't show the PowerDVD Codecs.

I have checked that I have the currect Foxconn drivers, NVidia drivers and PowerDVD is up to date. Any Idea as to why this is happening?

Hi Razy60

I was playing an ISO image via Virtual Clone Drive (from slysoft) rather than through the BD drive. I've fixed this now, it was a PowerDVD issue. I had purchased an upgrade from version 10 ultra to 11 ultra. For some reason, I needed to install v10 then all of the V10 updates before I upgraded to v11. Playback now works fine.

Word of warning mate, i have had (i am not the only one) some major issues with 10 ultra (i have had to uninstall it) tried the upgrade to 11 and it failed big time, At the moment i am in "lets call it polite talks with them"
The problem is the codecs or programming from 10 can get corrupted after an update causing playback issues. Your best bet if possible is to get a proper copy and install that rather than the upgrade

Update

Well the problem came back

...but I read on another forum that this problem can occur if you don't have your primary OS device connected to SATA port 0. I have to say I was sceptical but after changing the SATA cables around, so far it is working fine. Four movies watched and no problems :D

Well, it has returned again.....:(

I have tested the HDD, then replaced it. Ran a Memtest for 4.5 hrs with no problems.

I then removed the NVidia GTX580 and Creative Titanium sound card and installed them in another PC with the same software config and everything has been fine for 5 days.

It looks like the new MB is the problem as it's the only thing left!
