hi
I am helping friends mom and dad who's son ended up in jail. Got caught and done for DD (DUI)and got 8 months (not the first time) His mom and dad want to recover the pictures and some other financial files but all were kept under admin account Here is the catch. There is only 1 user account which is guest..and this machine is network machine ( there are 5 computers all up)
From user account I cannot access his files, have tried deleting the password through command prompt but access denied.
Funny thing is Admin account does not show up at the start up or at log in. Speaking to him I need network admin password to be able to extract the files but with all things going on he has forgotten it all.
I have tried taking hard drive out and connecting it to my machine but I am still asked for admin password (UAC)
Is there anything I can do from guest account to elevate guest to admin to take ownership of given files....
Registry change, command prompt does not work. I have not tried safe mode, but i guess it will be same story.
